FAQs

What is a Military Coworking Hub?

It is a place on a military base where non-serving members of the community can go to work, study, start businesses, access information, make friends and get help and support from their peers.

What is the Military Coworking Hubs Network?

By collaborating and working together we can help each other grow stronger. Individual hubs are connected together by a powerful, virtual professional network which any member can access and leverage.

Who are they for?

The hubs are primarily aimed at the spouses of serving personnel but the network is also open to other non-serving members of the military community including adult children of serving personnel, service leavers, veterans and reservists.

What services does a Military Coworking Hub offer?
  • A fully equipped, comfortable office space with fast wifi;
  • Peer to peer support and encouragement and access to a wide range of information and advice including local job opportunities, how to start a business, further education and business networking;
  • Social media platforms to help promote your products and services;
  • Regular email updates on what’s going on in your local base, support that’s available, professional & social networking opportunities etc;
  • Social & networking events to help spouses make friends, collaborate, share ideas and support each other;
  • Promotion of local civilian businesses to the military community to help improve integration.
What does it cost?

There are two kinds of membership: Virtual membership and Physical membership.

Virtual membership is free and offers you access to the network and regular email updates and information. This is for people who don’t need to use the physical office space but still want to receive information and be part of the network, attend events etc.

Physical membership which costs just £20 per year enables you to access the physical hub spaces and marketing and promotional opportunities.

Why should I become a member?

There are so many benefits of membership we can’t list them all here and people become members for many different reasons. The most popular ones are because they want somewhere quiet to study outside their quarter, because they want to get out of the house to work; because they want to make friends and somewhere to go that you can leave ‘Being mum, or dad’ at the door! You may also benefit from being a member if you want help promoting your products or services, want help finding a job  or if you just want a quiet place outside of your SFA to work or study. The Military Coworking Hubs members have lots of information and can act as a sounding board to any of your crazy ideas, which probably aren’t so crazy. They will be able to help and support you, and its a great way to make friends, especially if you have just been posted into the area.

How do I join?

Joining is easy. Sign up today via our website for virtual membership and indicate on your form if you’d like to be contacted about joining a physical hub. Then bring your joining fee in with you on your induction of the hub.

What facilities are in a Military Coworking Hub?
